Role Purpose

Reporting to the Baggage Manager, the job is responsible for the business interests and day-to-day shift operational performance of the Baggage at the LHR Airport. The role requires a strong leader with proven managerial skills.

What you will be doing

• Responsible for assisting the Baggage Manager in the day-to-day operational performance, safety, security and customer satisfaction of the product through effective support and management of the team.
• Represent the Company in a professional manner at all times.
• Orientates the Baggage Team around company values (S.P.I.R.I.T) and put them into practice.
• Ensuring safety and security procedures are according to standards set within the Menzies Health & Safety Policy Manual, and according to international aviation standards.

• Ensure that all staff fully understand that safety is the number one priority for the company.

What we are looking for

• Substantial operational management/supervisory experience.
• Experience and knowledge of aviation services, in particular baggage handling operations.
• Ability to communicate successfully at all levels, whilst leading and motivating a growing workforce.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Strong communications skills and experience in liaising with senior airline, airport, and other stakeholder personnel.
• Good knowledge of GSE.
• Good knowledge of BRS systems.
