Role Purpose

Responsible for the acceptance of goods (R4C) in the terminal's customer area for agents/forwarders (the blue area). Ensure that acceptance and Ready for Carriage (R4C) checks are conducted in accordance with all airline network standards, as well as Menzies's operational model, including internal Menzies procedures.

What you will be doing

  • Proactively coordinate with OSL Flight Operations (MWC) and the Documentation department to ensure all acceptance processes meet agreed airline and operational deadlines.
  • Perform thorough R4C checks at the AWB level in cooperation with the Documentation department. Explicitly verify compliance with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR), Special Cargo requirements (e.g., AVI, PER, VAL), and airline-specific Cargo Handling Manual (CHM) rules. Complete all mandatory R4C check forms accurately. If necessary, stop shipments failing R4C compliance and initiate corrective actions.
  • Perform necessary corrections to shipment weight and volume data. Ensure all updates (weight, volume, charges, special statuses) are promptly and accurately registered in relevant IT systems to guarantee correct terminal processing and secure accurate revenue for Menzies.
  • Adhere strictly to all applicable regulations including IATA DGR, airline CHMs, EU/EEA aviation security regulations (ACC3), and Norwegian requirements. Report any deviations, suspected security breaches, or non-compliant shipments immediately according to procedures.
  • Ensure accepted shipments are physically transported into the secure terminal area promptly after approval. Follow all Menzies security procedures meticulously during acceptance and R4C processing, including Terminal Access Control protocols where applicable.

What we are looking for

  • Extensive experience in cargo handling.
  • Experience and proficiency in using a PC and relevant operational software.
  • High work capacity and ability to manage stressful situations.
  • Service-oriented and holds a forklift license and valid driver's license.
  • Independent and leadership skills.
