Role Purpose

The Cargo Project Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating Menzies Aviation's cargo interests across Sydney. The key role ensures that cargo operations are executed with consistency ensuring that the delivery of services is consistent, professional, safe and secure. The role requires a seasoned manager with strong operational and business understanding and leadership skills.

What you will be doing

  • Management of daily cargo operations (cargo office and warehouse), ensuring customer airline service standards are maintained.
  • Ensure operational safety and security is upheld.
  • Implementation of company policies and procedures, promoting sound safety and security management practice.
  • Promoting and driving a ‘safety first' culture through all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing leadership, training and direction to staff 
  • Performance management including disciplinary issues and performance appraisals  
  • Ensure that employee rosters, payroll data entry, employee files and absenteeism calendars are maintained. 
  • Assisting with the recruitment process for new employees as well as HR admin support.  
  • Regular communication with internal and external customers (including other station management) 
  • Compliance with Menzies Aviation, SACL, AQIS, ACS and OTS policies and procedures.
  • Regular liaison with relevant authorities including participation on relevant committees and working groups. 
  • Regular completion of cargo warehouse, office and security audits. 
  • Responsible for GSE and facility maintenance.
  • Coordinates and/or supervises the activities of personnel involved in the development and implementation of special projects. Including subcontractor(s) management.
  • Meets with customers, subcontractors and liaises with stakeholders.
  • Establishes objectives and procedures/processes to measure the performance of assigned activities.
  • Reviews performance against operating plans and standards. Makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Standardize work and processes.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with other departments of the organisation to achieve the best results.
