Role Purpose

We are currently accepting expressions of interest for staff to join the Malaysian Airlines liaison officer team on a part time, leave relief basis. The successful candidate will be required to oversee end to end MH flight operations on a day to day basis at Melbourne International Airport.

Main accountabilities include:  

• Monitor and ensure compliance with MH, Malaysian and Australian legislation for the safety and security of staff, customers and equipment
• Comply with OH&S requirements and ensure work environment is safe
• Supervise, coach and encourage good teamwork and communication with MH staff and GH staff, ensuring strong bond and mutual respect
• Plan and allocate resources for the daily operation
• Provide effective induction, on the job training for Customer Services Officers and Agents
• Liaise with all relevant departments during disruptions

What we are looking for

• Must have MH product knowledge and minimum 12 months check in experience
• Knowledge of all areas MH functions is desirable but a working knowledge of Altea is required.
• Demonstrate effective leadership by providing direction, clarity and understanding of what is required to achieve company goals to both MH and GH staff
• Excellent Customer Service skills to internal (GH) and external customers (Passengers)
• Demonstrate ability to take ownership of problems and make decisions
• Have consistency in approach
• Effective use of presentation and negotiation skills
• Diplomacy, listening and empathy
• Copes effectively with changes in strategy and goals
• Ability to work extremely well under pressure
• Role model for personal presentation and grooming
• Ability to work shift work
