Role Purpose

Responsible for the day to day supervision and coordination of the Operations Department. To lead by example whilst maintaining Health & Safety standards and excellent working practices in line with Company policy.

Main accountabilities include:

  • Day to day allocation and coordination of flights as per skills required, ensuring disruption is considered
  • Customer liaison and dissemination of information regarding arriving and departing of flights
  • Ensure all airline operational requirements are met such as requesting flight plans, movement / delay messages are sent, airline systems are updated and referred to and the monitoring progress of live flights is undertaken.
  • Ensure the flight is met on arrival as specified in the GOM.
  • Ensure effective communication/coordination takes place with all stake holders/departments for all the customer airlines including charters.
  • Ensure headset function & hand signals are performed appropriately where applicable.
  • Ensure the flight clearance to approach, is given only when it is safe to do so.
  • Ensure/monitor flight is chocked/coned as per airline requirements.
  • Ensure walkaround checks are completed on arrival of flight and before departure (pushback/power out)
  • Ensure/monitor staff are following safety standards while performing Ramp functions
  • Ensure Ramp TL is briefed about the arrival LDM and necessary copies are provided as per airline requirements.
  • Ensure/monitor all areas including cabin cleaning, BMA, BBA and above the wing activities (IAW)
  • Ensure hold checks are done when unloading is completed.
  • Ensure all panel locks/handles are secured before departure.
  • Manage the recording and billing for Airline Customers – RSMS
  • Ensure all flight files are checked and compiled properly
  • Ensure any station delay is discussed with the Operations Team Leader/ Supervisor before sending departure movements. Ensure any delays incurred by the Company and occurrences are reported to the Operations Manager
  • Ensure all operational messages (pre & post- flight) are sent as per airlines requirement.
  • Ensure all trip file documents are filed in the respective airline folder as per checklist provided.
  • Ensure manual & EDP load sheets/CLC functions are carried out as per regulatory/airline requirements.
  • Ensure headset is performed for towing as specified in the GOM/airline manuals.
  • Ensure connection and disconnection of towbar activities are performed while performing towing function.
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner at all times
  • Maintain company's uniform standards
  • Reporting of sickness absence
  • Ensure all changes to the daily mayfly and the aircraft allocations are communicated and updated in the appropriate networks
  • Liaise with Airline Customers, Airport Authorities and Third Parties
  • Ensure appropriate and accurate reporting of all accidents and incidents incurred whilst on shift
  • Be familiar with all Company and Airline Ground Handling Manuals
  • Ensure all staff fully comply with Company Safety & Security Policies and Standards
  • Ensure safety is never comprised whilst fully complying with The Health & Safety at Work Act 1984 and Revisions
  • Any other reasonable duty as requested

  • Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents or dangerous occurrences to their manager / supervisor, who will then follow the procedures contained in the HSE and Security manuals.
  • Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific health, wellbeing, safety and security rules or procedures.
  • Fully understand the Company Health & Safety and Security policies.
  • Attend training courses as may be arranged by the Company

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Thorough knowledge of dispatch and weight and balance
  • Ability to support, coach and motivate your team
  • Ability to perform to an excellent standard in a pressured environment and to tight deadlines
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of ICAA Regulations, Health & Safety at Work Act and other compliances required
  • Knowledge of RSMS system
  • Must be pro-active and forward thinking
  • Have exceptional communication skills, be driven and self-motivated
