Role Purpose

To deliver all operational training requirements in adherence to this policy and develop local learning content, in line with all local operating procedures and regulations deliver training requirements as required to meet the operational demand and planning. Trainers are expected to be ambassadors for our people and their behaviours and deliver consistently high standards of training to meet the overall business strategy and the interests of our risk, commercial and people agenda.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver training courses for both new and existing employees, following the standards and learning styles outlined within this policy, ensure each employee receives the amount of training needed to safely, confidently and efficiently perform their duties.
  • Ensure compliance with Menzies Aviation standard operating procedures and ground operations manual.
  • Support with design and maintenance of training courses; and stay up to date with the relevant performance and safety trends at your location.
  • Develop training aids and initiatives at a local level to support in managing and reducing the local trends and risks as identified within your live operations.
  • Trainers are expected to actively participate in daily operations at all times and will be required to cover any tasks as needed during day-to-day operations when not conducting training duties. This includes, but not limited to, stepping into flight-related or other duties the trainer is certified for when necessary. The trainer role does not exempt individuals from operational responsibilities.

You will have a responsibility and duty whilst at work to take reasonable care of the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and others in accordance with provided information, training, and workplace health and safety rules or procedures. What we are looking for

A trainer is a person who imparts knowledge or teaches practical skills through demonstration, direction, tutoring and practical exercises. Instructors may utilise testing, checking, assessment or evaluation of activities as a means of determining proficiency.

The policy of Menzies Aviation is for those persons who conduct training, evaluation and assessment for employees are deemed competent, qualified and where required, certified to conduct such activities, to ensure a high-level of consistency in training delivery standards.

  • Must have a minimum of 36 months of operations or training experience in their disciplines of training (or locally approved equivalent standard).
  • Must have a good performance record with good interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills in working with a diverse group of people. Diversity includes education, literacy, position within the company and related diverse backgrounds.
  • Has excellent procedural knowledge and professionalism. 
  • Must be computer literate with knowledge in Microsoft Office.
