Role Purpose

This role will be based in Northern Europe, Stockholm, Oslo or Amsterdam and is responsible for the overall finance function of North Europe 

This is a hands-on role, focused on financial accounting and reporting based upon a solid approach to risk management and a sound internal control environment.  Furthermore, it is expected that detailed performance analysis and the provision of forward-looking insights will directly assist in commercial development opportunities, all aligned to the business objectives.  The development of strong working relationships with, amongst others, the local/regional business leaders, SVP Finance Europe, Finance Shared Service functions, and the Group Head Office finance team is critical.

What you will be doing

  • Providing leadership and expertise to the SVP North, SVP Finance Europe & Country/Station Finance Managers and respective finance teams on all financial and commercial matters to ensure robust financial control and planning in a timely manner
  • Providing expertise on all accounting issues and is able to leverage the accounting network within the Europe & Group teams
  • Review and interpret performance for trends and variations (including KPIs) delivering meaningful, accurate and timely reporting & analysis to translate these into actionable plans for communication to management and other commercial managers
  • Drive the planning processes within the Region for the production of the Budget, the periodic Forecasts and weekly Flash & cashflow reports
  • Responsibility for timely and accurate CIPs related to, but not limited to, commercial/BD tenders & capital investments

What we are looking for

  • Professionally qualified, such as qualified accountant (for example ACA, CIMA, ACCA, RC) or financially focused degree/masters, with strong post-qualification experience progressively growing to more senior positions
  • Hands-on practical approach to providing guidance and direction in a challenging and dynamic business environment
  • Self-motivated, disciplined and flexible attitude to work
  • Excellent record of timely reporting, team development and process improvements
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to identify, address and communicate issues and correction actions successfully at all levels
