Safety Officer

In this role you will assist and support the ARN Risk Manager and employees in achieving their responsibilities in respect of health, safety, security, compliance & environmental management across all departments. You will cooperate with department & duty management, employees and customer airline representatives to maintain and enhance appropriate and effective risk management systems, including adequate controls and protocols to ensure the station remain fully compliant with internal HSSE standards in addition to all relevant industry, regulatory and state legislated requirements. 

The position reports directly to the Risk Manager.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to: 

• Work within the station safety team to assist in achieving their responsibilities in respect of managing health, safety, security, compliance, environment and sustainability.
• Participate in audits conducted internally or by customers, clients and authorities.
• Conduct assessments and investigations in order to reveal flaws and shortcomings in the implementation  of new procedures and/or compliance with quality standards and objectives.
• Communicate and share relevant information with department managers and staff.
• To provide guidance and advice on Menzies Aviation Health, Safety, Security, Quality and Environmental policies.

What we are looking for:

• Experience of Aviation Ground Handling and/or safety & compliance related tasks.
• Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Packages e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. 
• Be able to represent Menzies Aviation and Customer Airlines in a professional manner.
• Ability to develop excellent working relationships with colleagues, airport authorities and airline customers.
• Be structured, organized, and able to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
