Safety, Security and Compliance Manager - NSW & ACT

Overview

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Safety, Security and Compliance Manager to join our Sydney Cargo Team on a permanent Full-time basis.
The Safety, Security and Compliance Manager is required to maintain and enhance appropriate and efficient safety systems, controls and protocols to ensure all operations remain fully compliant with all relevant company, industry, regulatory and legislative requirements.

What you will be doing

•    Safety & Compliance: Lead a culture of safety and ensure adherence to all regulatory standards and best practices.
•    Collaboration: Work closely with airport operations, commercial teams, and external partners to ensure seamless connections and operational support across the site.
•    Business Growth: Support the identification and execution of commercial opportunities, contract negotiations, and growth initiatives across the terminal.
•    Systems & Processes: Ensure all systems, infrastructure, training and personnel are in place to achieve a safety-first culture and security and compliance targets.
•    Strategy, Audits Plans & Assessments; Develop and maintain safety operational strategies and plans, complete audits, reporting and assessments to improve and monitor safety and security in the workplace. 
•    Safety and Security expertise: Lead, advise, coach and develop other leaders, teams and individuals to foster a culture of collaboration, safety, and excellence.
•    Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in operational processes, safety practices, and customer service delivery.

About You:
We are looking for an experienced Safety, Security and Compliance leader with a background in cargo operations, aviation, warehouse management, or logistics. You'll be comfortable overseeing both strategic and day to day safety operations, with a commitment to safety, security and compliance in the workplace.

What we are looking for

•    Proven experience in safety / security at a cargo terminal or warehouse management, ideally within an airport or large logistics facility.
•    Strong understanding of safety, regulatory compliance, and operational performance management.
•    Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
•    A proactive, solutions-focused approach to challenges with a track record of delivering results under pressure.
•    Tertiary Qualifications preferable and/or a minimum of five years' experience, three of which as a Manager in the cargo handling, aviation or logistics environment. 
•    Ability to influence decision making and build solid stakeholder relationship
•    Proven experience demonstrating organizational & management skills
•    Knowledge in use of computers and Microsoft Office Management Package
