Role Purpose

Reporting to the EVP Americas, the SVP Risk is responsible for leading Americas risk function, including Safety & Security, Operational Training and Quality, Audit & Compliance.

The post holder will ensure the Menzies safety culture (MORSE) is embedded in every operation, effective risk management systems are in place and proactively support the operational management to meet the requirements of the risk framework. They will drive continuous improvements in compliance within Menzies and Customer Airline health, safety and security policies, in addition to any legislation as may be set by the relevant Regulator, Country, or State of operation.

What you will be doing

• Lead the risk function, developing leading standards in Safety, Security, Training, Quality Assurance and Environmental matters.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of risk management.
• Provide clear and focused reporting and metrics to inform business decision making and identify performance improvement opportunities
• Lead the Americas risk management team by promoting and driving the ‘safety first' culture through all levels within he region.
• Representing Menzies Aviation as required in front of all stakeholders (Managers, Staff, Customers, Regulators, Airports, ) as our de facto expert on Safety, Compliance, Risk and Environmental Matters.
• Ensure all Business Units and stations have exceptional support in the areas of Safety, Security, Compliance, Risk and Environmental Standards.
• Management oversight of the SMART & Corporate QA & QC Programs within the Americas
• Monitor compliance with, and adequacy of procedures to ensure safe operational practices as required by Menzies corporate standards.
• Maintain oversight of current and future legislation & regulations to ensure we remain fully compliant, even as regulations change in real time.
• Managing audit and compliance operations as necessary across all parts of the Region to fully comply with all internal and external requirements.
• Proactively support Operational Management to ensure they meet the Menzies risk management framework by ensuring compliance with Menzies and Customer Airline health, safety and security policies, in addition to any legislation as may be set by the relevant Regulator, Country, or State of
• Continually look to improve the process of hazard identification and risk control as detailed in the quality assurance program, develop policy, support the field operation, introduce safe working procedures and oversee the quality assurance audit program.
• Ensure full compliance with MA corporate safety, security, quality and environment Participate as a key member of the network risk management team by promoting & driving the MORSE ‘safety first' culture.

What we are looking for

• Extensive general management experience in progressively more senior roles and knowledge of ground handling and aviation fueling services across multiple airports and countries.
• Sound knowledge & experience of managing Health, Safety, Security or Risk teams across multiple locations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a high level of confidence to influence at all
• Previous international experience would be advantageous with demonstrable understanding of the intricacies of working in multi-cultural environments.
