Role Purpose

The primary function of the Tarmac role is to; coordinate the departure gate, responsible for staff, safety and security and is also responsible for passenger reconciliation at the gate and liaising with Airline representatives.

What you will be doing

  • Lead and coordinate all gate, arrival, and departure activities to ensure the safe, secure, and on-time operation of flights while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Manage passenger processing activities, including boarding and deboarding, aerobridge operations, Departure Control System (DCS) functions, flight reconciliation, seat changes, upgrades, and other operational requirements.
  • Liaise with airline representatives, ramp teams, load control, and other stakeholders to coordinate flight operations, respond to last-minute changes, and support the efficient turnaround of aircraft.
  • Assist with the management of irregular operations, including delayed, cancelled, diverted, and off-schedule flights, ensuring passengers receive timely support and information.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and reports, coordinate passenger flow and bussing operations where required, and ensure compliance with all safety, security, and regulatory requirements

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 12 months' experience in an airline check-in, gate, or passenger services environment, with the ability to coordinate teams and allocate duties effectively in a dynamic operational setting.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, solve problems, and perform under pressure while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
  • High attention to detail with proven experience in passenger processing, flight documentation, boarding control, and compliance with airline and regulatory procedures.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including experience using Departure Control Systems (DCS), Microsoft Office applications, and other operational technologies.
  • Professional presentation, reliability, flexibility, and a commitment to safety, teamwork, and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced airport environment.
