Role Purpose

We have an exciting and rare opportunity for a Vice President (GSE Safety & Sustainability), who will lead our efforts in ensuring the safety, compliance, and environmental sustainability of our Ground Support Equipment (GSE) fleet.  The role holder will play a pivotal role in transforming our fleet from traditional diesel-powered equipment to lower emissions and environmentally friendly alternatives while improving safety and compliance in our GSE operations. The role reports to SVP GSE & Equipment, and will work in close collaboration with GSE, risk and sustainability leadership across the business.

This role can be based within our core offices Europe and the Middle East.

 

What you will be doing

  • Define and implement comprehensive safety standards for GSE operations, ensuring compliance with internal, regulatory, and industry safety standards.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement in GSE operations, focusing on safety, compliance, standardisation, and environmental impact.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to establish a robust program of regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with GSE operations.
  • Lead the strategic transformation of the GSE fleet to lower emissions and environmentally friendly alternatives.
  • Develop and implement a roadmap for the transition to electric or alternative fuel GSE, considering operational needs, airport infrastructure and change management requirements.
  • Research and assess innovation and new technologies to enhance the environmental sustainability of GSE operations.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (engineering, aviation management, etc.).
  • Extensive experience in aviation, with a focus on GSE, safety, compliance, and environment.
  • Trained to a recognised qualification in occupational health and safety.
  • Trained to a recognised qualification in environmental management.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental management practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
