The successful candidate will be required to manage & administer the entire Cargo operation and support the start-up operation based in Baghdad Iraq.

Main Accountabilities Include

  • Manage and oversee all Cargo operational related functions and activities.
  • Ensure continuous improvements & efficiencies’ in Operational Processes and Standards.
  • Oversee and maintain operational security and safety procedures in conjunction with the regulatory departments and other relevant authorities.
  • Manage Service Level Agreements with airline customers.
  • Ensure that staffing levels, sickness and absenteeism, vehicle accidents and speed violations are monitored and controlled.
  • Compile Cargo related SGHA with Airlines.
  • Ensure Safe and secure cargo Warehouse Operations and it’s working environment.
  • Ensure optimization of Manpower, staff levels/ shift Patterns.
  • Ensure airline-specific Cargo Operation Manuals are current, implemented and followed.
  • Oversee station audits by airline customers and relevant authorities.
  • To ensure that all incidents and accidents are fully investigated, and appropriate corrective and preventive actions are that in place.
  • Liaise with airline customers, maintaining a proactive relationship to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Liaise with airport and customs authorities to maintain compliance.
  • Establish and maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers to comply with Company policy and health, safety and security regulations.
  • Management of equipment agreements, including but not limited to forklifts, weighing scales, screening unit etc.
  • Responsible for adherence to Customs rules & regulations.
  • Execute all tasks and functions within the Corporate Governance guidelines at all times.
  • Any other reasonable duty as requested.

Candidate Requirements

  • A thorough knowledge of Cargo operations, both air and road.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the airfreight industry, of which at least 5 years must have been in a Management role.
  • Have knowledge of dealing with Customs Regulations.
  • Have knowledge of and experience in Dangerous Goods Regulations.
  • Certificate/Diploma in Strategy, Productivity, Production or Operations Management is an advantage.
  • Have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write reports.
  • Thorough customer relation skills.
