This is a role managing all aspects regarding Aircraft De/Anti-icing. Providing efficient, cost effective, safe Aircraft deicing/Anti-icing service to our customers ensuring that they maintain the ability for safe operations, meet On Time Performance (OTP) during the winter season and whenever adverse weather is forecast.

The part you’ll play

  • To ensure that operations are ready to deliver compliant aircraft de/anti-icing for the winter period.
  • Set and maintain correct staffing levels to provide all customers with agreed SLA’s.
  • Work with admin/planning to achieve robust rosters.
  • Oversee the daily operations with the station de-icing coordinator to ensure staff numbers are at the required levels to cover the operation.
  • Liaise with customer representatives as required to ensure daily operational issues are managed effectively and provide customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring staff competence through training and coaching to ensure a high level of performance, safety and customer satisfaction is attained at all times.
  • Identify and initiate remedial action to any operational issues, investigating and reporting all deviations.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, providing feedback on a regular basis through auditing and monitoring of standards.
  • Review and adjust operations to ensure quality and consistency of performance.
  • Liaise with suppliers, business partners and authorities to manage any operational issues that may arise.
  • Through uniform management and communication make sure all staff interface with customers in a unified fashion. Promoting Menzies Aviation in the highest of professional standards.
  • Ensuring that staff use the appropriate PPE provided and it is worn/used in the correct fashion, adhering to MA procedures.
  • Supervision, support and development of the de/anti-icing teams, identifying training requirements as appropriate.
  • Ensure that the de/anti-icing staff receive the necessary induction and training to maximize recruitment and staff retention.
  • Performance Management and all Company Polices.
  • To work in harmony with the De-Icing Coordinators to organize support for the de/anti- icing operations when extra staff are required to achieve current SLA agreements whilst remaining within budget.
  • You will be required to maintain compliance with all relevant Industry standards and MA HSE policies.
  • Collate station reports an disseminate to Head of Cabin Services/Customers.
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be delegated by Head of Cleaning.
  • Establish and maintain key contacts within the airport industry.
  • Attend internal safety meetings and act as MA representative at customer and airport meetings.

What you’ll need to bring:

  • Excellent understanding of Aircraft De/Anti-Icing procedures.
  • Excellent IT skills in MS Office.
  • Airside pass holder (desirable).
  • Key Competencies - Communicating with Impact and Operational decision making.
  • Team player with good interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to deadlines.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to communicate with staff and customers, both written and verbally.
  • Excellent man-management skills.
  • Extended wealth of De-icing/anti-icing knowledge required with past experience crucial.
  • Full understanding of IATA DAQCP and DEVA auditing.

Working in an Airside role, to follow aviation security requirements, you will be required to hold a full Airside Security Pass. To obtain this we will need 5 years' full referencing history, with a Criminal Record Check.
