The part you’ll play

We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic person who is capable of working in a busy energetic environment. You will be required to remove and replenish airline amenities. Plus, load and unload the Hi-lift vehicle with airline products such as blanket, duvets, linen and mattresses etc. You will manoeuvre the vehicle in close proximity to aircraft and operate to tight airline deadlines. Drivers also remove airline waste and dispose of it at the appropriate Grundon waste station.  

A good eye for detail and the ability to work under pressure are essential. You will comply with company procedures and health and safety standards at all times. The ideal candidate should have minimum of 1 years’ experience driving Heavy Goods Vehicles in the airside environment. You will have the appropriate DVLA licence or a company “Certificate of Competence” (COC). Alternatively, you may have experience of driving 7.5 tonne vehicles on public roads. You should be a professional driver who operates in a manner that keeps the airport environment clean and safe.

  • Check vehicle for damage and faults.
  • Load and unload cages of aircraft stock/linen.
  • Position Hi-Lift onto aircraft door.
  • Follow A/C door opening procedures.
  • Empty Galley Bins and re-line.
  • Collect blankets, duvets, mattresses and replace with new ones.
  • Ensure all security checks are complete.
  • Dispose of rubbish in the correct Grundon bins.

What you’ll need to bring:

  • Flexible and service minded.
  • Full DVLA category B driving licence.
  • Either H.G.V class 2 or 1, or experience in driving LGV Vehicles airside or on public roads (Evidence required) Minimum age 21.
  • Physically fit (must pass Airside Driving Medical).
  • Ability to read, write and have a good understanding of English (Several Exams During Training Period).
  • Work under pressure yet maintaining high standards.
  • Work as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Must be able to work varied shift patterns.
  • Must be able to provide a 5-year checkable reference.

Working in an Airside role, to follow aviation security requirements, you will be required to hold a full Airside Security Pass. To obtain this we will need 5 years' full referencing history, with a Criminal Record Check.
