Menzies Aviation are recruiting for a Risk Analyst and Management Information Co-Coordinator to join their Group Risk Team (Operations) to work closely with the SVP Group Risk and supporting Group Risk subject matter leads on all Risk Data Processes, Evaluation and Visualisation.

This role will support the business in the end-to-end control, design, implementation and improvements of Risk Data Processes. You will manage and enhance our analytics capability and insight. You will lead on the development and delivery of Operational Risk related data and insights to support the team in understanding performance and opportunities and importantly, develop our capability in predictive analytics.

The development of analytical techniques for risk management purposes is highly technical and requires a deep knowledge and understanding of statistics. In addition to this, an understanding of many underlying systems, combined with an understanding of the business. Also, constant evolution of analytical techniques used is necessary to keep pace with the dynamic changes in the business.


The Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring of risk using Integrated Risk Management Software (IRMS) and BI toolkit.
  • Creation of portfolio/risk analysis reports.
  • Production of Risk Dashboard templates for automated performance statistics
  • Responsible for design of risk visualisation and correlation data output.
  • Recognise, identify, and improve data processes.
  • Data Flow automation's and migrations, and data systems integration with multiple system interfaces.

The role accountabilities will include:

  • Support business users in the development of Risk based analytics and dashboard automation.
  • Constructive engagement in the development of the safety database and tool kit.
  • Interpret data from IRMS analyse and provide insight to the Risk team and wider business, with a specific view to identify trend and interrelated cause and effect.
  • Interpret information collected through various systems and identify forecasting trends that look towards the potential risk, rather than residual risk (allow us to be proactive, not reactive)
  • Provide logical and well-articulated recommendations to improve performance, effectively communicating findings both verbally and in writing. On occasion, it may also be necessary to present clear and well-articulated findings to the Senior Management.
  • Lead on any data and insight requirements for operational risk related activities.
  • Conduct route cause analysis providing advice and insight to drive the business forward.
  • Develop and maintain functionality to Identify any operational and regulatory risks, escalating as appropriate.
  • Operate and support development of risk data information systems to the required standard to maintain accurate and secure records

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in data analytics or similar numerate degree.
  • Understanding of good housekeeping for data protection and information security requirements.
  • Technically competent with MI/BI systems
  • Previous experience designing and implementing solutions for data reporting and analysis
  • Knowledge of using complex data structures
  • Confidence and creditability with the ability to effectively communicate information and knowledge assertively, whilst demonstrating empathy with colleague’s diverse challenges.
  • Experience in a Risk Analytics environment would be ideal but not essential
  • Excellent quantitative analysis skills
  • Ability to present complex concepts and results in a way that is clear and concise and that will be easily understood by all audiences.
  • Ability to make recommendations based on analytic results
