As the Assistant Accountant to the Central Finance Manager, you will be involved in the day to day accounting of central support functions. This will include during month, key month end tasks and ad-hoc project work as required.

Main Accountabilities Include:

  • Month end closure on SUN accounting system.
  • Banking journals and bank reconciliations.
  • Participant in key projects.
  • Intercompany funding and treasury accounting.
  • Intercompany recharges.
  • Insurance claim payments.
  • Entry of invoices and preparing and running weekly BACS payments.
  • Liaising with suppliers to resolve AP queries.
  • Preparation of monthly payroll and pension journals.
  • Cost analysis, tracking and reporting.
  • Assisting in forecast, budget and investment appraisal preparation.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Corporate credit card governance.
  • VAT return preparation.
  • Other ad hoc finance duties.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in finance or business studies.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive self-motivated approach with strong analytical skills and a high level of integrity.
  • Good communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work in order to meet timetables and deadlines.
