The part you’ll play

We are seeking hard working, committed people to deliver high service standards to our airline customer. You will be an integral part of the operations team leading by example whist representing both the company and the airline to their customers. As well as overseeing the British Airways experience at the gate, the role will require you to take responsibility of co-ordinating a safe turnaround and full compliant dispatch of the aircraft.

  •  Ensuring all staff members fully comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 when carrying out their duties.
  • Assist passengers being directed to and from the aircraft in a safe manner.
  • Oversight of Passenger Services staff affecting the aircraft including assistance during disruption.
  • To understand and operate radio and PA equipment effectively and correctly.
  • Coordinating & recording the safe and timely delivery of all services to the aircraft at the request of the crew or engineers.
  • Confirming detailed delay analysis to the Ops Controller and SDM.
  • Supplying of weather/NOTAMS as required upon request to the Captain.
  • Distribute Load confirmations to the correct personnel.
  • Using the BA I-Load system.
  • Process customers using an automated PRS or manual system ensuring full compliance with regulatory, company and airline standards.
  • Promote a professional image and experience at all times.
  • Lead a team of staff to ensure safe, on time departures for all airline customers.
  • Deliver the highest possible customer service at all times.
  • Deal with disruption and irregularities with confidence and composure.
  • Where required assist with the boarding of flights and checking in of passengers at the gate area.
  • Assist with the Bag Manager system to get the information to the Ramp team in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with flight and cabin crew.
  • Any other reasonable duty as requested


What you’ll need to bring:

  • Experience of Ground Handling Practices.
  • Leadership experience in coordinating a small team.
  • A track record of delivering against key performance targets.
  • Ability to develop excellent working relationships with Airline Customers and employees.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Packages e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be flexible.
  • Be able to demonstrate effective time management.
  • Proactive, forward thinking and trustworthy individual.

Working in an Airside role, to follow aviation security requirements, you will be required to hold a full Airside Security Pass. To obtain this we will need 5 years' full referencing history, with a Criminal Record Check.
