All reference to Baggage & Cabin Appearance will be B&CA. B&CA Support function is to carry out tasks as instructed by the B&CA Assistant Manager in support of the department but is not to include the physical handling of baggage or the actual cleaning duties associated with the Cabin Appearance element of the department. It is to support the teams in their duties to achieve safe, secure and on time flight departure and to assist/support the teams with their activities to ensure service delivery as per Agreed SLA's/KPIs.

Punctuality and the ability to meet deadlines given as tasked is imperative.

  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as per MASIL
  • Operate Baggage Tugs to and from aircraft stands to the BMA Area, if qualified to and trained to operate that equipment with the recognized driving permits i.e ADP.
  • Maintain the operational serviceability of vehicles used by the department and to liaise with the vehicle supplier to collect and/or deliver the vehicles for repairs, if required.
  • Complete and collate, on a weekly basis all information for the ULD Inventory check,
  • including identifying damaged ULD's. {Training will be given for this).
    • Deliver all trash with the Scania Dumpster Vehicle to the designated incinerator area outside of the airport perimeter, as and when required or tasked to do so.
    • Operate the vehicles in the department used to collect trash from Cabin Appearance teams from the aircraft, when tasked to do so.
    • Carry out serviceability checks on baggage trolleys, owned by the company when tasked to do so.
    • Assist the department teams in keeping the restroom area clean at all times, paying particular attention to fridges and microwaves.

 

  • Liaise with the materials storekeeper to replenish all cleaning materials the department may need on a daily basis, and ensure these materials are available to the teams. Paying particular attention that materials are readily available for the teams out of hours.
  • Attend training as directed.
  • Do only those tasks for which you are trained for.
  • If you notice any safety hazard, incident, accident, report to the B&CA Supervisor or team leader immediately.

  • Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Assistant B&CA

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education - High
  • Minimum 6 months' experience within the aviation sector, ideally in airport ground handling
  • Previous airport ground Handling experience and knowledge is preferred.
  • Driving qualifications and experience essential
  • National driving licence
