Role Purpose
Baggage Driver will operate GSE (Such as electric and diesel tractor) - after completing appropriate training - and will be responsible to support ramp/baggage/cargo handling operations. Handle baggage (Load/unload & transport arrival, transit & departure baggage) as instructed by Baggage Team leader or supervisor. Support Baggage team to achieve safe, secure and on time flight departure and to ensure baggage delivery as per Agreed SLA's/KPIs.
Main Accountabilities
While working in airside Operation, He/she shall be responsible for:
-Report to the Baggage Team Leader / GSE coordinator on shift.
-Follow Airport Airside driving rules and procedures.
-Follow MASIL GSE driving procedure.
-Drive/Operate only those GSE/Vehicle for which you are trained & qualified.
-Ensure GSE/tractor/Vehicle driven is clean and in serviceable condition.
-Delivery of arrival/departure baggage to/from aircraft
-Housekeeping of Baggage Hall Area
-Towing and positioning of required trolleys, dollies, empty ULD's in Baggage Hall Area for baggage handling.
-Ensure removal of unnecessary equipment from Baggage Hall as directed.
-Perform GSE checks as per MASIL procedure.
-Perform tractor duties to tow baggage, cargo, Towable GSE to support aircraft turnaround in safe and smooth manner as directed.
-Carry out inventory of MASIL trolleys, dollies and Airline ULD's on station as directed.
-Ensure that valid driving authorization/ADP/Driving license (as required by BIAP/ICAA/MASIL) is always with him/her during duty in Airside & to ensure renewal of same is done in timely manner.
-Check locks of GSE (Trolleys/dollies) to ensure that load is secured during transportation.
-Safe towing of arrival / departure/transit load for safe and on time flight departure.
-Assist in GSE cleaning & washing.
-Assist Team Leader and Baggage Team in Baggage loading, unloading and baggage transportation.
-Assist Airside Ramp/cargo operation as directed.
-Report any incident or accident which he / she may notice or may be involved directly to Baggage Team Leader and Shift Supervisor.
-Ensure to check serviceability of GSE/ Vehicle before using or towing it. Arrange to repair any defect/unserviceability found in the equipment through immediate supervisor / GSE workshop.
-Maintain the allocated equipment in neat and clean and presentable condition. Work to ensure proper housekeeping in ramp, ULD storage and Baggage Handling Area.
-Perform bay requirement (preparation and retrieval of GSE required for flight handling) duties, as directed.
-Perform ULD management duties (ULD checks, towing and stacking of ULD's in safe manner).
-Use allocated GSE/vehicle (tractor duties) safely.
-USE allocated GSE/tractor/vehicle in such a manner that safety of Aircraft, passengers, staff, persons, vehicles, airport infrastructure, company or third-party property is never compromised.
-Perform any additional task / duty required to meet operational requirements.
-Attend training as directed by MASIL.
-USE Personal Protective Equipment as per MASIL and Airport procedure.
-Drive or Operate Tractor/vehicle/GSE (Only for which you are trained for) to meet operational requirement as directed.

Qualifications, Competencies & Experience
-Must be medically fit and able to pass Night, colour vision Eye Test in order to work as driver in airside environment.
-Matriculation or equivalent preferred.
-Light Commercial Driving License– Candidate should possess current/valid driving license issued by regional transport authority/ competent authority as per Airport operator's/ICAA requirement.
-Heavy Driving license (HTV) will be given preference
-Minimum 1 years' experience within the aviation sector, ideally airport ground handling
-Previous airport ground Handling experience and knowledge is preferred.
-Must be flexible and willing to work in shifts covering 24 x 7.
-Must be reliable and punctual.
-Customer and safety focused.
-Flexible and with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations.
-Good Communication skills
-Self-motivated, disciplined, flexible attitude to change.
-Should be able to read and write basic English Instruction.
-Should be able to keep validity of driving license or Authorization in order to drive airside.
