Role Purpose

The role is responsible to support the Fuels team and BD &Commercial management in the evaluation, analysis and pursuit of new business opportunities and tenders. The role will support the VP BD &Comm. with data analysis and reports on market evaluation, financial proposals, tender preparation, and benchmarking to build and enhance the strategic oversight of market and Customers.
The scope of the role is to contribute to the growth of Menzies Aviation Fuels business by supporting the achievement of new business.
The job holder acts under the directive of the VP Business Development & Commercial, supporting the whole Fuels Team in its growth

What you will be doing

  • Responsibility for the management, safety and operational performance of the station, which includes ITP operations.
  • Collate and organise operational and market data of the Fuels industry.Conduct market research to identify potential clients and new business opportunities. Develop and implement strategies to approach and engage with these prospects
  •  Analyse the market trends and financial evaluation of opportunities.
  • Enhance timely data reporting of market analysis.
  • Preparation of tender responses and submissions in collaboration with management
  • Build and update Market and Customers overviews.
  • Participate in the commercial aspects of preparation, compilation, presentation, and review of bids for UK and EU business opportunities
  • Assist in the preparation of financial analysis for new business opportunities.
  • Management of Customers and Contract database, as required.
  • Gathering analysis of data for commercial decisions and support the key drivers of financial and operational 
    evaluation of business opportunities.
  • Assisting when required in Contract and Bid Reviews or any other relevant meetings with Customers
  • Conduct post and interim bids reviews providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Involvement in the development of pricing, preparing models for the calculation of ad hoc pricing for new business opportunities and Bids.
  • Preparation of Customers presentation or new opportunities info packages to support Management decision making
  •  Liaise with operational management to collate data and ensure the validity of the data collected.
  • Liaise with support functions, Safety, Finance, HR and IT to identify relevant information for Company presentation and tender preparation.
  •  Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote the company and identify new opportunities.
  • Take reasonable care for the health and safety of him/her-self and of others who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions or decisions whilst at work.
  • Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific workplace health and safety rules or procedures.
  • Fully understand the company health and safety policy.
  • Attend training courses as may be arranged by the Company.
  • Engage with MORSE and follow Menzies core principles.

What we are looking for

  • Working knowledge of general business management
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at senior management level, in particular with Business Partners, Customers and Airports
  • Good understanding of Aviation fuelling market to provide input for tender submission
  • Commercially aware, understanding of budget processes, and preferably skilled for financial/economic evaluation.
  • Familiar with data collection and analysis techniques.
  •  Excellent IT skills, Excel – including macros, graphs, pivot tables etc., skilled in delivering professional presentations MS Office (Powerpoint)
  • Good Communication skills written and oral.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints, mostly for tender submissions deadline.
  • Ability to prioritise workload in order of urgency and importance.
  • Flexibility to travel both domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice.
  •  Knowledge of project management.
