The part you'll play

An opportunity has arisen to join our Cargo Warehouse team as a Cargo Services Manager supporting the Warehouse operation.  This role will require you to oversee all aspects of the 24/7 warehouse operation on a shift basis to deliver expected service performance for all customers.  You would be responsible to ensure all operations are delivered safely, securely and within all contracted service performance requirements.

Key responsibilities would include; 

  • Oversee warehouse operations including export build process, import breakdown, export deliveries and import collections
  • Ensure all service delivery targets daily are achieved
  • Ensure warehouse housekeeping and operational process requirements are consistently achieved
  • Ensure all employees in the warehouse environment are delivering the best possible productivity during shifts
  • Effectively manage labour resources within the warehouse operation as required to ensure workload targets are achieved
  • Complete shift management and KPI data reports as required
  • Ensure all staff briefings are held and correctly attended and managed
  • Ensure all target door times are achieved
  • Ensure compliance to customer service level agreements (SLA's)
  • Provide oversight to security and safety compliance on a day to day basis
  • Liaise with local UK authority stakeholders as required
  • Proactively resolve customer complaints and implement revised processes or measures to prevent reoccurrence
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance to Company procedures.
  • Ensure all new work instructions are constructed with the health, safety and welfare of staff, customers, contractors and other visitors/3rd parties as required as a priority
  • Be fully compliant with the Company Health & Safety policy

  • Fully comply with DFT Regulations and Health and Safety regulations monitoring and auditing our terminals security and safety process
  • Ensuring Working Time Directive is effectively managed and ensuring full productivity on shifts


What you'll need to bring:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Cargo warehouse operations
  • Supervisory/management experience within Cargo operation
  • Good decision and problem solving skills
  • Excellent people and planning and skills
  • Knowledge and experience of cargo operations, compliance, security, safety and cargo commercial activity
  • Industry qualifications and training such as Dangerous Goods Handling, Security awareness, Live animal regulations, special product handing and outsize cargo handling

Working in an Airside role, to follow aviation security requirements, you will be required to hold a full Airside Security Pass. To obtain this we will need 5 years' full referencing history, with a Criminal Record Check.
