Role Purpose

The Chief Operating Officer (North America) is accountable for the end‑to‑end leadership of day‑to‑day operations across the region, encompassing all Ground Handling Operations (excluding Cargo and Fuel) in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. The role ensures disciplined execution of the company's strategic objectives, delivering safe, efficient, and consistent operational performance at scale.

Working in close partnership with the EVP Americas and the executive leadership team, the COO translates strategic vision into actionable operational plans, drives process optimisation and operational excellence, and ensures effective coordination across functions to support sustainable growth and performance.

 

What you will be doing

  • Provide enterprise oversight of day‑to‑day operations, ensuring consistent execution of strategy and delivery against business objectives.
  • Translate corporate strategy into clear operational priorities, measurable outcomes, and scalable operating models.
  • Drive operational performance, efficiency, and profitability, using disciplined KPI management and continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with the Executive Vice President (Americas) and executive leadership team on strategic planning, growth initiatives, and business transformation.
  • Provide leadership and direction to senior functional leaders, building a high‑performance, accountable, and collaborative culture.
  • Oversee organisational effectiveness, including talent development, succession planning, and operating model design

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations, or a related discipline; MBA or equivalent executive qualification preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including senior executive roles with accountability for enterprise-wide operations.
  • Aviation Services industry experience, with an understanding of safety, compliance, asset-intensive operations, and regulatory landscapes.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, multi‑functional operations and aligning diverse teams to a shared operating agenda.
  • Highly effective leader and decision-maker, with strong executive presence, influence, and stakeholder management capability.
