Role Purpose

The Cyber Security Specialist will work as part of the central cyber security function, supporting the delivery and continuous improvement of global cyber security controls. The role works closely with regional cyber security teams and technology stakeholders to improve security maturity, reduce risk and ensure consistent adoption of security standards across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have the capability to understand the operation and capabilities of key security tools and operate them hands on if required. They will also understand the business risk faced by cyber threat and play a key role in reducing the business risk, delivering value to its purpose.

 

What you will be doing

  • Supporting the configuration, optimisation and effective use of security platforms including Microsoft Defender, Cisco Umbrella, Tenable and Splunk.
  • Supporting the implementation of cyber laws, regulations, directives and frameworks. e.g. NIS2 Directive, ISO27001.
  • Reporting on compliance with security policies, ensuring adoption.
  • Supporting the development of the Vulnerability Management Programme.
  • Supporting the management of security service providers, monitoring service effectiveness and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Developing technical capability through automation, scripting and security engineering practices where appropriate.

What we are looking for

  • Ability to work individually and as part of a global team.
  • Ability to manage the performance of third-party service delivery partners.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a range of audiences.
  • Undergraduate Degree in an IT or cyber security discipline, or equivalent experience and relevant qualifications. 
  • Ability to successfully implement global strategic initiatives in security information management.
  • Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as International Standards Organisation (ISO) 27001, the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or the National Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework.
