Role Purpose

The General Manager (Ground Handling) is responsible for creating, managing and executing strategies for overall Toronto (YYZ) ground handling operations and is ultimately accountable for ensuring improvements in productivity and rapid growth of the business. Furthermore, this role is responsible for identifying the overall business capabilities required for consistency, efficiency and collaborative implementation of operations and services.

What you will be doing

Ensuring service delivery to customer airlines in accordance with airline contracts and within the agreed budget level.
Fully responsible for all aspects of the station operations. Services offered at the station include Passenger, Ramp Handling, Cabin Cleaning and GSE Maintenance.
Ensuring safety and security procedures are according to standards set within the Menzies Health & Safety Regulations and according to international aviation standards.
Fully accountable for the financial performance and compliance with Corporate Governance, legal and quality aspects of the Menzies businesses in the station.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with Airport policies including but not limited to Public Safety, Security, SeMS, IMS practices, Environmental policies, Workplace Health & Safety and all other governances through Transport Canada.

What we are looking for

5-7 years of management experience in Ground Handling business.
A proven track record in managing a business unit with more than 10,000 turns per year.
Financial management skills of a medium to large size business.
Fully conversant with airline ground handling procedures, aviation safety and security procedures.
Good working knowledge of IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement.
Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate, and negotiate cross-functionally in both unionized and non-unionized environments, as well as with external stakeholders to achieve results.
