Overview

Manage and provide directions on all aspects of Safety and Compliance at Fuels Operations, throughout Menzies Aviation in Europe.  Implement Safety Standards and HSSE performance Continuous improvement, Comply with local HSSE regulations, promote initiatives to enhance Safety by ensuring adherence to operational processes and procedures to Industry and Customer, Company Standards as well as Legislative requirements.

Role Purpose

What you will be doing

  • Manage and provide support to Fuels organisation and sites in aspects of HSSE to include all safety management systems, Risk Management, MOC, PTW, COSHH and specialist fuels technical HSE items.
  • Design, implement, update and manage Menzies Aviation Fuels HSSE-MS, including HSSE policies
  • Monitor all Self Cert and SMART App HSSE related entries and take appropriate action to follow up
  • Keep track of HSSE culture and plan actions to upgrade and improve the Safety culture of the Fuels organisation
  • Establish appropriate HSSE KPIs for Fuels business, monitor and analyse the trend and implement corrective and/or improvement actions based on Safety performance review
  • Prepare periodic HSSE reports with appropriate trend analysis and performance assessments
  • Own Risk Assessment process for fuels division, conducting regular checks and assessment to ensure all are updated as appropriate
  • Internal Audits - Carry out planned and spot internal HSSE audits on behalf of Menzies Aviation as instructed by VP HSSE & Ops Excellence Fuels and as per sites 3-years requirements.
  • Support the execution and closure of external audits through planning, preparation and dealing with inspectors
  • Ensure that all HSSE-related findings from internal and external audits are tracked and closed within time scales set by both internal and external auditors
  • Provide HSSE training to the Menzies Aviation fuels division
  • Design and update training materials, programmes, alerts, bulletins and manuals relating to HSSE
  • Manage HSSE-related communications and engagement of sites and fuels organisations
  • Promote initiatives and campaigns to enhance Safety culture and improve Safety performance
  • Propose and manage Fuels HSSE Yearly Agenda and monitor progress
  • Manager Environmental issues by planning soil contamination monitoring, managing incident report internally and to authorities, plan and implement remediation and/or emergency procedures to confine and prevent contamination
  • Assess overall sites security and implement improvement plans to ensure protection of the facilities
  • Implement Health monitoring plans assessments of staff and manage actions required by results of Health plans and assessments
  • Design, update and implement ERPs for all the local operations and workplaces
  • Handle incidents response, investigate root causes and share learnings and investigation outcome within the organisation
  • Deal with Customers for HSSE related issues, incident, investigations, performance reviews and HSSE action plans
  • Promote HSSE reporting, analyse contents, set remedial actions and extract learning to share and prevent reoccurrence
  • Be focal point for HSSE Fuels issues within the Group to include SignStix system
  • Support the start of new operations with HSSE practices, procedures and policies implementation and training
  • Support the negotiation and definition of contracts for waste management, spill response, PPE etc.
  • Support Sustainability initiatives related toEnergy saving, recycling, waste management etc
  • Explore new technologies and practices to improve HSSE management
  • Organise annual Fuels safety (MORSE) days to incorporate European business
  • Support new operations start-ups with manuals, forms, training and any other operational and HSSE requirement.

  • Support and promote the reporting of any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents or dangerous occurrences to their manager / supervisor, who will then follow the procedures contained in this manual.
  • Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific workplace health and safety rules or procedures.
  • Fully understand the company health and safety policy.
  • Attend training courses as may be arranged by the Company.
  • Engage with MORSE and follow our code principles.
