Role Purpose

To assist and support Oslo Station in achieving their responsibilities in respect of health, safety, security management across all departments. To liaise directly with Station, operational and regional Management to maintain and enhance appropriate and effective safety systems, including adequate controls and protocols to ensure the station remain fully compliant with internal HSSE standards in addition to all relevant industry, regulatory and state legislated requirements.

The position reports directly to the Station Manager and have a functional reporting line into the Regional HSSE Responsible in Scandinavia.

What you will be doing

  • Proactively support Operational Management to ensure they meet the Menzies risk management framework by ensuring compliance with Menzies HSSE policies in addition to national legislation.
  • Continually look to improve the process of hazard identification and risk control as detailed in the Health and Safety Manual, develop local policy when required, introduce safe working procedures and support the field operation with ensuring appropriate oversight. 
  • Monitor and ensure implementation of mitigation actions in case of detecting negative trends of personal injury, aircraft damage, loading errors and GSE accident rates.
  • Daily monitoring of safety systems and produce regular statistical reports.
  • Respond as lead investigator for serious or major incident and accidents and provide emergency support as may be required.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within the aviation sector, and safety and security work. 
  • Experienced in investigative techniques and conducting detailed investigation reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels and from different geographical and ethnic cultures.
  • Ability to drive through policies and procedures and represent the Company in a professional manner at all times.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, flexible attitude to change. Ability to remain calm and controlled in stressful situations.
