Role Purpose

The Baggage Master is responsible for coordinating and overseeing baggage operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely movement of passenger baggage and Unit Load Devices (ULDs) in accordance with airline requirements, company procedures, and regulatory standards. The role provides operational leadership to baggage room staff, ensuring service delivery targets, safety obligations, and customer expectations are consistently achieved while maintaining effective communication with airline representatives and internal operational stakeholders.

What you will be doing

  • Lead and supervise baggage operations staff, ensuring work is allocated effectively, performance standards are met, and operational objectives are achieved.

    Deliver safe, compliant, and efficient operations by adhering to aviation security, safety, quarantine, dangerous goods, and company requirements.

    Ensure airline service standards and operational KPIs are achieved, including flight readiness, baggage handling accuracy, first bag/last bag targets, and timely flight close-out.

    Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships with airline representatives, operational teams, service providers, and management to resolve issues and support service delivery.

    Manage operational administration and resources, including reporting, system updates, equipment management, staffing coordination, and maintaining required certifications and records.

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrate strong leadership, coaching, and team management capabilities to drive performance, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of company policies, procedures, airline systems, and relevant government regulations to ensure compliance and effective decision-making.
  • Resolve operational issues and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment to maintain service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing accurate advice, information, and support regarding operational services and customer requirements.
  • Utilise strong organisational, time management, and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, to manage operational and administrative responsibilities effectively.
