Role Purpose

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, repair, and maintenance of various ground support machinery used in airport operations. This includes vehicles, aircraft tugs, baggage carts, fuel trucks, and de-icing equipment. Their primary purpose is to ensure all equipment is in safe, reliable working condition to support aircraft servicing, loading, and ground operations. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, performing preventive maintenance, and adhering to safety and compliance standards to minimize operational downtime and ensure smooth airport operations.

What you will be doing

  • Responsible for maintenance and accident repair work on both light and heavy vehicles.
  • Arrange regulatory and safety inspections (CAP642/MOT/LOLER) for vehicles and equipment.
  • Interface with 3rd party contractors in the day-to-day maintenance or emergency repairs of mechanical/electrical plant, vehicles and boiler plant.
  • Liaise with our GSE Manager to provide technical support and advice.
  • Carry out plant audits, calibration and vehicle inspections, regulatory and safety checks including weekly checks.

What we are looking for

  • Must hold a full UK Driving licence.
  • Essential knowledge in car repairs and commercial vehicles in the workshop and on site.
  • Welding, fabrication and painting skills would be an advantage.
  • Show commitment and prioritise tasks independently.
  • Be able to communicate and interact with members of staff and third parties.
