Role Purpose

As a key member of the Serbian leadership team, the Operations Director will play an active role in the strategic direction of the business. The aim of the role is to support the business leadership with the oversight and supervision of the service delivery, ensuring consistency, efficiency, synergies and avoiding structural duplicities of all operational areas including safety and security, performance, compliance, quality, resourcing, IT and sustainability as well as the responsibility to roll out global strategies applicable to the Serbian business.

 

What you will be doing

  • Support business leadership team with the oversight and supervision of all operational functions.  
  • Overall leadership and management of operational functions team in Serbian structure ensuring synergies and avoiding duplication. 
  • Ensure appropriate framework exists for each function and that the country receives the appropriate level of central support. 
  • Specific responsibility for key areas of safety, security, health and safety, performance, compliance, quality, resourcing, IT, safety, and sustainability areas. 
  • Be responsible for and maintain departmental budget. 
  • Monitor, maintain and report on risk indicators and support the drive for consistency in approach for industry leading standards 
  • Oversight and supervision of resourcing indicators to support business leaders in obtaining efficiency, standardisation, and synergies. 
  • Oversee, supervise, and report compliance with all applicable legislation and regulation with regard to sustainability.

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience and extensive knowledge in leading a complex 24/7 aviation services operations.
  • Proven track record of achieving demanding business results.
  • Experience and understanding of functional departments including finance, commercial, Risk and HR.
  • Experience with evaluating and mitigating business and financial risks.
  • Experience in services organisations where costs need to be tightly controlled and service standards are high.
  • A proven track record with fast paced, commercially driven, truly international organisations where the prime emphasis is on value add and delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
  • Ability to influence, challenge and implement change.
  • Hands-on practical approach to providing guidance and direction in a challenging and dynamic business environment.
  • Commercially adept with a broad business understanding.
  • Self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, results-oriented, and able to get things done without over-reliance on structures and processes.
