Role overview

Deliver high performance standards around all aspects of the Ramp Handling operation, meeting the requirements of our customers and maintaining health and safety and overall good working practices in accordance to company policies and procedures at all times.

Main accountabilities include:  

The employee will be responsible for work as assigned to them and their responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Management of daily Ramp handling operations, ensuring customer airline service standards are maintained.
  • Control the organization of work for the adequate balance between staffing and services,
  • Solve operational problems while ensuring an excellent and smooth operation
  • Maintain headcount budget
  • Responsible for ordering supplies and maintaining the invoicing system
  • Assure efficient communication and collaboration of the team
  • Ensure operational safety and security is upheld.
  • Provide ongoing leadership, training and direction to staff.
  • Performance management including disciplinary issues and performance appraisals.
  • Regular communication with internal and external customers (including other station management)
  • Compliance with Menzies Aviation, BAC, CASA and other regulatory bodies' policies and procedures.
  • Regular completion of safety and security audits.
  • Other tasks as required.

Safety, Security and Compliance

All employees have a responsibility and duty whilst at work to:

  • Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions whilst at work.
  • Co-operate with their manager / supervisor in order to allow them to perform or comply with any legal requirements imposed on the company.
  • Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided by the company in the interests of health, safety or welfare reasons.
  • Inform their manager / supervisor of any work situation, equipment or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger to health and safety.
  • Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents or dangerous occurrences to their manager / supervisor, who will then follow the procedures contained in this manual.
  • Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific workplace health and safety rules or procedures.
  • Fully understand the company health and safety policy.
  • Attend training courses as may be arranged by the Company.
  • Engage with MORSE and follow our code principles.

 

An employee who impedes the implementation of a safe and healthy system of work, or puts themselves or others at risk by not following health and safety procedures or by engaging in horseplay, will face serious disciplinary action. Endangering the health and safety of people, is considered in most Countries and States to be a breach of law, and enforcing officials (e.g. fire officers, local health and safety authority) could bring prosecutions against the Company, Company Directors, Management and employees alike.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive experience and knowledge of aviation services
  • Previous experience in the airline/aviation industry desirable with sound knowledge of Ramp handling operations and procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Microsoft Word/Excel skills
  • High level leadership and managerial abilities.
  • Apply a detailed knowledge of company policy and procedure.
  • Ability to interpretation EBA's and demonstrate understanding of IR legislation.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • High level customer service delivery.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an ASIC pass and an airside drivers licence
