Role Purpose
Reporting to General Manager Oslo, the Station Manager is responsible for the business interests and operations at Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
The Station consists of approximately 600 employees. The multiple customer base provides a wide variety and complexity of operations and product offering, although the principal services provided will be ground handling and cargo. The role requires a proven manager with a strong operational and business understanding.
Main Accountabilities
• Planning, organisation, and direction of operational activities at Oslo Gardermoen airport.
• Ensuring safety and security procedures are according to standards set within the Menzies Health & Safety Policy Manual, and according to international aviation standards.
• Leading, developing coaching and motivating managers to develop and utilise their skills.
• Maximizing business potential and revenue, identifying and developing new business opportunities.
• Leading service delivery to customer airlines in accordance with service level agreements and agreed budgetary levels.
• Instilling policies and procedures designed to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the station, whilst promoting sound safety, security and people management practices.
• Establishing, maintaining and promoting effective working relationships with both internal and external customers.
• Liaising with employee and union representatives on a range of employee relations matters when required.
• Monitoring performance and taking action to correct any shortfalls.
• Liaising with airline station managers, airport operations management, handling agents, customs, immigration, and security officials, union officials, and other airport stakeholders.
• Providing reports as required, and service delivery measurements.

• Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents or dangerous occurrences to their manager / supervisor, who will then follow relevant rules of Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority, and Security manuals.
• Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific health, wellbeing, safety and security rules or procedures.
• Fully understand the Company Health & Safety and Security policies.
• Attend training courses as may be arranged by the Company
Qualifications, Competencies & Experience
• Extensive general management experience
• Extensive experience and knowledge of aviation services, ideally to include ramp, freight, passenger handling and aircraft presentation.
• Financially and commercially astute with extensive experience and a strong grasp of financial practices including P&L responsibility.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills
• Strong communications skills and experience in liaising with senior airline, airport, and other stakeholder personnel.
• Fully conversant with international airline ramp handling procedures, international aviation safety and security procedures.
• The Working Environment Act (AML) is a Norwegian law that regulates working conditions and the work environment to ensure a safe and health-promoting working life. The aim of the law is to promote a safe working environment and to prevent health hazards and accidents in the workplace.
• Able to work with a multi-national work force and to adjust to the local conditions of the station.
• Good knowledge of ramp GSE.
• Good working knowledge of the IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement.
• Aptitude to develop the management team, provide succession planning and re-engineer business processes as demanded by changes in the business.
