Experienced Check-in Agents, Gate Leads, Service Desk Officers & Turnaround Coordinators

 

Status: Permanent, Part-Time

Reports to: Passenger Services Supervisor

Location: The role is based at Menzies Aviation – Sydney International Airport

We have exciting opportunities for experienced Check-in Agents, Gate Leads, Service Desks and Turnaround Coordinators located at the International Terminal and are looking for energetic, positive individuals who are passionate about delivering impeccable customer service.

Offering industry leading rates for experienced operators starting at:

  • Check-in Agents from $28.39 per hour plus penalties and allowances.
  • Gate Leads from $30.37 per hour plus penalties and allowances.
  • Service Desk Officer and Turnaround Coordinators from $33.09 per hour plus penalties and allowances.

 

Principal Responsibilities (Check-in Agents / Passenger Services Officers)

  • Passenger check-in.
  • Verify passport, ticketing, and visa information.
  • Process checked-in and carry-on baggage.
  • Arrange passenger seating and issue boarding passes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security requirements at all times.
  • Assist passengers with additional requirements, including assistance of passengers requiring wheelchair assistance.
  • Provide a high-level of customer service, ensuring the needs of the passenger are met.
  • Set-up and operate as boarding gate staff.
  • Assist passengers during flight disruptions, delays and cancellations.
  • Other duties as directed by Supervisor and Manager.

 

Principal Responsibilities (Gate Leads / D1 Agents)

  • Supervision of staff and operations during the boarding process.
  • Providing leadership and direction to staff.
  • Daily briefing duties.
  • Providing exceptional customer service.
  • Decision making and organisational skills to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
  • Ensuring productivity and performance criteria are met.
  • Duties as listed for a Passenger Services Officer.

 

Principal Responsibilities (Service Desk Officer & Turnaround Coordinator)

  • Operate as coordinator during flight operation under the direction of Passenger Services Supervisor.
  • Supervise staff during flight operation under direction of Passenger Services Supervisor.
  • Attend client airline flight briefings and in turn brief staff accordingly.
  • Edit flights for check-in.
  • Complete any flight and post-flight reports.
  • Access and process passenger reservations as directed by client carrier.
  • Liaise with operations and gate staff regarding flight closure procedures.
  • Liaise with baggage room and ramp staff as required.
  • Duties listed for D1 Agents and Passenger Services Officer.

 

Candidate requirements

  • Experience working in check-in, gate lead, service desk officer or turnaround coordinator roles.
  • Efficient computer and typing skills.
  • Professional and courteous communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • A positive, can-do attitude.
  • Ability to problem solve and complete work accurately within a fast-paced
  • Ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
  • Maintain a high standard of grooming and presentation.
  • Ability to work a 7-day evening shift roster without restrictions.
  • Applicants will be required to undergo a Police check, Airport security check and pre-employment medical as part of the standard conditions of employment.
