We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Ramp Trainer. In order to be successful in this role you will need to able to motivate and lead staff and be responsible for your own work and that of others. You must be able to meet deadlines and will be required to exercise initiative, discretion and judgment.

What you will be doing

  • Ensure all staff receive appropriate and high-quality training
  • Coordinate, prepare and present internal training sessions.
  • Identify, develop and implement effective training programs and procedures (theory and practical)
  • Ensure staff are trained on company/customer systems, procedures and standards
  • Review procedures to ensure they continue to meet operational and customer requirements
  • Monitor operational practices to ensure compliance with these standards and procedures
  • Develop or maintain Ramp Services standards and procedures where required
  • Maintain individual employee training recordsProvide support and feedback to Management through staff appraisal processes
  • Provide advice to management on conducting training needs analysis to determine company and individual training/development needs
  • Deputise and assist Supervisors in operational matters, e.g. coverage due to staff shortages, A/L sickness etc., as required.
  • Ensure all staff are aware of Health & Safety requirements and regulations.
  • Keep up-to-date with relevant training and development best practice
  • Undertake special projects as required
  • Maintain security of Company premises, supplies and equipment.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Ramp Duty Manager
  • Maintain confidentiality when dealing with company and staff matters
  • Ensure training plans and sessions are approved by management where a significant financial cost will occur.

What we are looking for

  • Ability to relocate to Queenstown Airport, New Zealand (essential)
  • Sound computer and word processing skills to produce or update training manuals; create and update spreadsheets and maintain training records.
  • Ability to demonstrate good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Previous training experience (desirable)
  • Sound knowledge of Menzies' operations is (desirable)
  • Minimum 2 years Ramp experience (desirable)
  • Cert 4 in Training and Assessment (desirable)
