Role Purpose

The Safety and Compliance Manager is responsible for compliance within the country, specifically ensuring that the operational delivery of services are safe, secure, consistent, professional and in accordance with Malaysia's legislative framework and Menzies Aviation (Malaysia) policy.

What you will be doing

Implement Menzies' Safety Management System to consistently improve Safety performance.
Operational Safety across all business areas.
Ensure new operations or stations open with full compliance including safety security & environment.
Implement Safety & related policies and procedures, ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
Support Operational Managers to achieve compliance in safety security and environment.
Internal operational audit to including SMART and MORSE.
Customer relations.
Develop customer awareness of Safety performance.
Lead external Audit processes.
Deliver and maintain feedback to operational areas.
Respond in a timely manner to all customer requirements.
Provide MD/GM with relevant data to support regional reporting requirements.
Liaise with regional safety & compliance team in relation to compliance including safety & environment.
Preparation of all customer contact reports and weekly safety/security activities.
Prepare monthly safety reports.
Complying in all respects with the lawful directions given by or under the authority of the Board as communicated to her/him by the MD/GM and performing such further duties as may from time to time be assigned to her/him by the MD/GM
Unless prevented by incapacity, devoting the whole of her/his time, attention and ability during agreed working hours to the performance of duties for the Company.
Abiding by all applicable control procedures and documents of the Group Companies in place from time to time.
Be available to travel as and when required.

What we are looking for

Malaysian Citizen
With a minimum of diploma or bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
6-8 years management experience in compliance and safety preferably in a ground handling, aviation or logistics environment.
Commercial awareness with a focus on building existing and developing new customer relationships.
Ability to manage and direct a team and display strong decision-making skills.
Excellent communications skills (both oral and written).
Strong senior management, leadership skills with key focus on staff development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to present and influence at all levels.
Interpersonal skills: Independence, decisiveness and the ability to work accurately and independent of immediate support. Able to influence, engage and motivate at all levels.
Flexible, determined to succeed and self-motivated.
Extensive knowledge of Menzies Aviation operations, the airline industry, ground handling market and applicable airline regulatory standards.
