The fuel facility at LGW, is managed on behalf of ExxonMobil. Product receipt is by pipeline ensuring that all deliveries received at LGW meet with the required specification for aviation Jet A-1 Fuel and are transferred to GASHCO as required.

 

Candidate requirements

 

  • The setting up of pumping routes for the receiving, delivery and inter-site movement of product.
  • Tank dipping.
  • Fire Marshall.
  • Dealing with the Competent Authority and the EA.
  • Product sampling.
  • LV and HV Awareness.
  • Supervision and management of import and export operations.
  • Additive handling and storage.
  • Approved Inspector of fuel quality.
  • Undertaking planned maintenance, installation & testing of plant & equipment.
  • General cleaning of site and facilities.
  • Responsibilities under Emergency Preparedness.
  • Provision of assistance / ownership of site projects.
  • Management of contractors working on site.
  • To maintain product stocks (stock control) in close co-ordination with the into-plane operation to ensure that adequate stocks of product are maintained to meet the daily demands, by carrying out daily and monthly reconciliation of product stocks.
  • Operation of fuel farm through the operation of the SCADA control facilities, to ensure that product is handled and released in accordance with recognised industry operating and quality procedures. The responsibilities include the daily operation and maintenance of fuel storage tanks, product pumps, filtration equipment, valves, loading gantries, vehicle test facilities and emergency systems.
  • Quality control and quality assurance – to comply with the requirements of the Company's and Customers operating and quality guidelines EI 1530 and systems to ensure that aviation Jet A-1 is fit for aircraft use in accordance with the designated specification.
  • To ensure that all operations are maintained to a safe standard and meet with the requirements of the Company's HSSE Management System. This includes the reporting of all incidents, accidents, injuries, spillages, unsafe acts/conditions, potential incidents and near misses. Works to OIMS
  • Engineering works and maintenance – in co-ordination with ExxonMobil's management, to assist in maintenance projects as directed.
  • Administration duties – to maintain up to date documentation records and reports necessary to support the compliance of all procedures, standards, and audit requirements in co-ordination with the Fuel Farm Terminal Manager, to maintain an efficient operation and cost-effective operation.
  • In co-ordination with the Fuel Farm Management Team, to ensure that adequate resources are always in place to meet the needs of the operation.
  • Maintain the operation of facilities in accordance with CMMS and ensure that aviation fuel meets with the industry specification and is handled and delivered to customers safely.
  • Meet with the requirements of the Company's QHSSE Management System and to continually improve in the reporting of all incidents and near misses. works to OIMS.
  • Complete all information for the documentation of the operations including stock records, logs, dispatch and collection records, tank batching records, as required.
  • Issue permits to work, when trained and authorised to staff, ExxonMobil personnel and contractors carrying out work at the depot and associated facilities.
  • Attend to callouts in accordance with local arrangements.
  • Advise senior site staff of any problems with any of the responsibilities as soon as practicable.
  • It will be necessary to participate in a standby and call-out rota for which an allowance will be paid.
  • Report all HR issues and matters to LGW-JV operations manager (Station Manager).

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid driving license with LGV C+E. (ADR + CPC are desirable)
  • Health and safety awareness and respect is essential.
  • High standard of numeracy and literacy skills required in addition to problem solving skills.
  • Good team working skills required with a high degree of flexibility.
  • Aircraft re-fuelling experience desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Must have a checkable five-year employment history.
  • Excellent leadership, personal and communication skills are essential as is the need to be both adaptable and flexible.
  • Airport Operations – Knowledge
  • Fuels Technical Service – Skilled
  • Fuels Supply / Distribution Logistics – Skilled; NVQ level 3 Petroleum Control Operations /Process Engineering
  • Product handling and control – Skilled
  • Health, Safety & Environmental Management – Skilled
  • Terminal/Tank Farm Operations – Skilled
  • Good standard of Physical fitness is required. Colour and distance vision.
  • Computer literate – a skilled understanding of PCs required for the operation of the SCADA control system as well as the other systems in place to perform all daily operational duties.
  • Sound understanding in use and operation of all equipment.
  • Competencies acquired through experience, training and any qualifications required and obtained to meet the needs of the business.
  • Staff to be self-motivated, totally flexible, decisive, responsible, and able to work as a team during the absence of day-to-day supervision. In co-ordination with the ITP Supervisor and Operations Manager, to take the initiative in resolving day to day operational problems.
