About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Training Manager to lead and manage the training operations for a busy third-party ground handling provider based at Auckland Airport. This role is critical in ensuring operational competence, safety compliance, and customer standards are met across our Front of House and Back of House (Ramp, Baggage Make Up, Cleaning and Ramp) Teams.
Reporting to the General Manager GH Auckland, you will be accountable for the development, delivery, and governance of all operational training programs, ensuring alignment with regulatory, customer, and organisational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all operational training across ground handling functions (Ramp, BMU, Cleaning, Passenger Services, and Support roles)
Ensure compliance with CAA, airport, airline customer, and company training standards
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve training programs, materials, and competency frameworks
Manage initial, recurrent, and remedial training schedules
Oversee our department trainers, ensuring appropriate qualifications and performance standards
Maintain accurate training records, audits, and reporting
Partner with operational leaders to identify capability gaps and training needs
Support safety culture through effective training and competency assurance
About You
Proven experience in a training leadership role within aviation, ground handling, or a highly regulated operational environment
Strong knowledge of aviation safety, compliance, and competency-based training frameworks
Experience managing trainers, assessments, and training governance
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence operational leaders
Strong organisational and reporting skills
Confident communicator with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
Desirable
Background in airport ground handling operations (Ramp exp would be desirable)
CAA or equivalent aviation training exposure
Adult education or training qualifications
