The position will be responsible to execute the corporate strategy of growing our business and maintaining our existing customers which among others will be to; develop relationships and business with our key customers, identify new business opportunities and growing our complimentary services offering. The post holder will maintain the commercial overview across our Ground Handling and Cargo Business.

The part you’ll play

  • Maintaining and developing relationships with customer’s representatives to ensure the Menzies operation is aligned to the customer’s vision and strategy.
  • Daily, weekly or monthly reporting of on-time performance, additional revenue collection and service delivery as required.
  • Analysis of the customer’s performance results and investigation into individual service failures with robust root cause analysis being completed and reported.
  • Reporting performance, trends and actions at regular customer meetings with minutes provided for each meeting.
  • Providing support and guidance to the New Zealand station management team through effective communications whilst promoting exceptional teamwork.
  • Create presentations to be delivered to airline customers, suppliers as well as Menzies Aviation management
  • Assist with RFP responses by gathering necessary information and importing into a professional RFP response document
  • Create and update customer contracts and addendums as requested by the regional commercial team
  • Update and monitor CRM, RSMS and Cobblestone to ensure that contract revenue and other commercial data is captured correctly
  • Liaise with legal and credit teams to ensure corporate governance guidelines are complied with.


What you’ll need to bring:

  • Substantial operational management, supervisory or commercial experience within the aviation industry
  • Pro-active approach, excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Strong and effective communications skills and experience in liaising with senior airline, airport, and other stakeholder personnel. Fluent in English
  • Developed communication and diplomacy skills used to direct, coach, guide and influence others
  • Prior experience with Standard Ground Handling Agreement (SGHA) preferred but not essential
  • Self-motivated and disciplined with a flexible attitude to working hours and ability to travel interstate and overseas, often at short notice
  • Highly developed skills with Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective organisational skills with special attention to detail

Working in an Airside role, to follow aviation security requirements, you will be required to hold a full Airside Security Pass. To obtain this we will need 5 years' full referencing history, with a Criminal Record Check.
